Privacy policy

Learn how we handle your data and privacy. Contact us if you have any questions.

How We Handle Your Content

Editing and processing happen locally on your device. Your projects and media are stored in your browser by default. If you sign in, your projects and media are also backed up to our servers (hosted via Supabase) so they can be recovered if local browser storage is lost or cleared, or accessed from another device.

Accounts & Authentication

CheezCut offers optional sign-in with Google. If you choose to sign in, we collect your name, email address, and profile image from your Google account to identify you and associate your cloud-backed-up projects with your account.

If you don't sign in, we don't collect any account or identity information, and your project data stays only in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB).

AI Features

Auto captions and AI music generation send the relevant audio, video, or text to a third-party AI service to fulfill your request. These features are optional.

Analytics

We use Databuddy for basic, anonymized visitor counts. We do not track clicks, interactions, or how you use the editor.

Local Storage & Cookies

We use browser local storage and IndexedDB to:

  • Save your projects locally on your device
  • Remember your editor preferences and settings
  • Store app state needed for the editor to work between sessions

Third-Party Services

CheezCut integrates with these services:

  • Google: For optional sign-in
  • Supabase: For cloud backup of projects and media, and for account data
  • Databuddy: For anonymized analytics

Your Rights

You have control over your data:

  • Signing in is optional - CheezCut works without an account
  • Clear local storage to remove all locally saved projects
  • Contact us to delete your account and any cloud-backed-up data
